Help fund our building projects in Soibada
How it works
There are skilled tradesmen and builders in Timor Leste who are more than capable of constructing quality buildings. Funding remains the issue! The bricks are made in Soibada, but we need the money to purchase them and other materials.
The "Buy a Brick" campaign will be an ongoing fundraising project. The name of all of those who contribute will be recorded in a book, with photos of our community here in Australia. It will be presented to the people of Soibada so they can really see how deep our friendship goes.
There will be stalls set up in Mona Vale, Avalon, Warriewood and Newport in the coming months, publicizing and selling the bricks. Volunteers are needed to help man these stalls and spread the word about the project.
By keeping the cost of a brick low at $10 we enable all members of our community to participate in this exciting and rewarding venture. A little for us really does mean more to the people of Soibada. Although funding is what will make these projects possible, the key to this partnership between Pittwater and Soibada communities lies in the friendship relationship. We can all be part of it.
